- If you are an Australian First Nations student who will commence the Bachelor of Nursing in the first year without credit for prior study, you can choose to apply for the online First Nations cohort. This wil give you the opportunity to attend dedicated intensives with other First Nations students.
Qualification
- Meets the requirements of one of the following
- Completion of an Australian Year 12 qualification (or equivalent) with the Minimum ATAR required or equivalent is achieved
- A completed Special Tertiary Admissions Test (STAT) with an equivalent ranking to the currently listed ATAR
- A completed Certificate III at AQF Level 3, studied at a TAFE, Registered Training Organisation (RTO) or University – or equivalent
- Partial completion of an AQF Diploma, of at least 50%, studied at a TAFE, Registered Training Organisation (RTO) or University – or equivalent
- A completed AQF Diploma studied at a TAFE, Registered Training Organisation (RTO) or University – or equivalent
- A completed Tertiary Preparation Certificate from an Australian university (or equivalent), demonstrating a reasonable prospect of success through the Overall Grade Average or Score achieved
- Successful completion of a minimum of two university level subjects (AQF level Associate Degree or higher) demonstrating a reasonable prospect of success through the overall Grade Point Average (GPA) gained in these studies
- A completed Certificate IV in Nursing (or equivalent) and AHPRA registration as an Enrolled Nurse
- A completed Diploma in Nursing (or equivalent) and AHPRA registration as an Enrolled Nurse
- A completed Advanced Certificate in Nursing (or equivalent) and AHPRA registration as an Enrolled Nurse
- A completed Advanced Diploma in Nursing (or equivalent) and AHPRA registration as an Enrolled Nurse
- A completed Hospital Certificate in Nursing (or equivalent) and AHPRA registration as an Enrolled Nurse
Inherent Requirements
- Must meet the Inherent Requirements (basic physical, communication, intellectual and interpersonal tasks to achieve the learning outcomes of the course)
Students from an English-speaking background must have attended and satisfactorily completed at least six years of primary and secondary education taught and assessed solely in English in a recognised country (Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Republic of Ireland, South Africa, United Kingdom or United States of America) including at least two years between years 7 and 12.
OR
Students from a non-English-speaking background must provide IELTS results (academic module) with a minimum overall score of 7 and a minimum score of 7 in each of the four components (listening, reading, writing and speaking), or equivalent test.
OR
Student is an enrolled nurse with current registration with the NMBA – English language requirements will have been demonstrated for enrolled nurse registration at the NMBA
The Bachelor of Nursing supports students to undertake at least 800 hours of workplace learning in an exciting range of authentic healthcare settings.
